Jays first spring training game
Today was the Jays first spring training game. They played the Tigers and won 10-3. The Jays scored 10 runs getting 11 hits and committing two errors.
Pitching
Brandon Morrow pitched the first inning and gave up two runs while getting one strikeout. He threw 23 pitches. Then Brad Lincon pitched an inning giving up two hits but no runs. Steve Delabar pitched the third giving up one run. In the fourth Esmil Rogers pitched a good inning showing his powerful arm. Then Dave Bush, who is back with the Jays after being traded to the Brewers in 2005 when the Jays got Lyle Overbay, pitched two innings. Ramon Ortiz pitched the seventh giving up no hits but two walks. Neil Wagner pitched a perfect 8th. Chad Beck pitched the ninth inning getting two strikeouts.
Now for the hitters, Emilio Bonifacio lead off and went 1-3. Maicer Izturis went 0-2 with a walk. Brett Lawrie went 1-2 with a walk and two RBI’s (2). Adam Lind went 2-2 with a walk, a single, and a double with one RBI (1). J.P. Arencibia went 0-3 with four left on base. Moises Sierra went 1-2. Lance Zawazki went 1-2 with a grand slam homerun. Ryan Goines went 1-1 with a three run homerun.
upcoming game
Tomorrow the Jays play the Orioles. Mark Buehrle will start and pitch two innings.
